I spend myself more frequently daydreaming about the tribe and the shire. Being together, cooking and eating together, laughing, having deep and meaningful conversation, lighthearted chats too. Having someone or someones to go to when you want to share an idea that's bubbling away inside, a hug always being available.

I realise my longing as ancestral. And like you say, in these times, one way we can find the tribe now is online. Which is how we became fellow tribes people 😍

When I felt I could do nothing, I took the only thing I had and leaned into it. A backyard. One I could rewild. There amongst the caterpillars and the squirrels, I found a tribe I could finally feel at home with. Then on Substack I encountered people who feel similarly. What an amazing thing to occur that all started with a simple birdfeeder.

You're spot on, Michelle! It's all about the next step in the right direction ✨️

Nina, this stirred something deep inside of me.

Tribe...I have used this word forever. Not too many people, but the right ones, each bringing their unique gifts.

Generations...each age contributing their strengths, wisdom and perspective.

I think that we've lost something precious by living so separately. My move back home, in many ways, was an attempt to create this kind of life for my son and for myself. I hope more of us find our way back to it.🧡

Beautiful reminder that we all need connection, community, and a place to belong.

I think one of our deepest human needs is simply to belong. Not to be identical, but to be known, accepted and needed. X

Thank you for reading and for your reply, Claire! I totally agree. To be accepted and appreciated with all our quirkiness is a deeply human need.
